Tom's Conference in May

I hope you'll be able to come! It should be a real Tom-festival, and I know his friends will enjoy having a chance to meet you. This last year a lot of people from any end of the world (thank goodness for email) have worked pretty hard to orchestrate this conference into its current shape.

Most things are falling into place, and at this time we have over 150 registered participants; usual attendance at these annual Midwest Geometry Conferences are about half that.

So, the 'other half' are here to celebrate Tom. His best friends, Bent from Denmark, whom he met at MIT - they had the same advisor, Mike from Australia, Rod from New Zealand, Oussama (also different spelling, among other differences) from France, Antoni from Poland, and William from Costa Rica are just some people, many of whom have worked with him for 1-3 decades. - These are just some of the people I know very well.

Really cool people (not the usual math/physics geeks - not that there's anything wrong with that..)

The URL is http://www.math.uiowa.edu/MGC2007/ -- the schedule and other info is up to date.

Many arrive May 14 (Monday), 15, or 16, and the conference days are May 18-20 (Fri-Sunday). There is a conference banquet on Saturday evening at a local restaurant, located by the Iowa River.

I can easily make reservations at downtown hotels, or you're welcome to stay at our house.
