Week 2

2 down, 5 more to go. Week 2 a little tougher than week 1. Nothing big to report, which is good news. He was a little disappointed when his nun wasn't around this week.

President Tony

Tony has been elected president of his school. After Bill's post to the blog all I can think is this is yet another sign of the apocalypse. (If the blog magically changes colors or something, I think that will be the final sign).

An impeachment push is underway. The teachers made up some new rule about getting a detention within the first 3 weeks of your term and you're out. So far, he's been clean (3 days and counting).

He got another mandate yesterday when his football coach let him call his own plays in the 2nd half of the game, trailing 0-6 at the time. It was a 22-6 final.

Instant Messaging

Being kind of new to all this BS. Jim told Mary K to have me set up instant messaging so he can communicate with with me. I am in somthing known as AIM and my address is billbransonsr. I have Jim on my "buddy" list and have had a 72 hour vigil where he has not been on. Is he nocturnal? I was on at 2:00am and 5:00 am today but nothing there.

I seem to have a little more free time now to do some communicating so if anyone would like they can give it a shot.

More info on the foot massage. It was great and relaxing. It was given by a black nun. I think this may have resolved several psychological issues from my youth regarding habits.

Storm Damage

We had the scariest wind ever at this house. The NWS office measured 60mph gusts yesterday around 4:15 PM. We lost a few trees, a big one missed the house by inches! We did receive a phone call about 10 minutes before the storm from Beth who told us to "get in the basement!"

Week one down. Six more to go. Bill's treatment went pretty well this week. Side effects not too bad yet. He felt a little sick last night, but overall it went good. On Monday, they are putting a port in. They will use this to inject the chemo and take his labs. This should save him from being stuck with the needle every week. They are also going to be putting in a G Tube. This is a feeding tube. If he is unable to eat later in the treatment, we can then use this to supplement his nutrition. The good thing about this tube is that he can still eat if he feels like it.

And as always the nurses like Bill. On Monday during his chemo he actually had a nurse give him a foot massage. I think he's hoping that I learned something from her, but I had to tell him no such luck!
