Response to Mary's Article

In order to put some images in here, I had to do a new post instead of commenting on Mary's post about the oil. That guy is in the same county as our sections. I don't know exactly where he is, but we're in Dunn County also.

There has been some action recently around one of our sections. Compare these 2 images. The first was from Nov 07, the second I captured tonight. In both pictures, our section is section 6 in the upper left corner. The yellow dots (confidential object) of last year have turned out to be functioning wells (black dots). And there are newer yellow dots, one only a section away from us.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. We appreciate everything you have done for us, and all you continue to do from both near and far. Thank you to Dick and Diane for the wonderful get-together. It was nice to have a place to go today to be with family. Also, thank you for Karen, Jeff and Mark for the wonderful morning...my dad would have been proud of us.

Dad...we miss you and we love you. Happy Father's Day!

We Need a Bigger Boat

Does anyone else think a 100 year flood is a bad omen on a meteorologist’s wedding day? Maybe we can all meet somewhere north of Madison and rent a boat or lash our cars together and float down together.

If anyone is in Madison and has first hand road info please share it here.

Red Raiders at State

In case you haven't heard, the Central baseball team qualified for state last week with an extra-innings victory over Logan, and a game winning grand-slam to defeat Reedsburg. Obviously Joe isn't playing, since he broke his wrist, but it is still exciting. If you'd like to watch any of the game, they play at 8 a.m. on Tuesday (aka tomorrow). You can watch them on the web at http://www.wiaa.tv/ If they win the first game they play at 6 p.m. Tuesday. So, if you have a few minutes and would like to cheer on the Red Raiders, go for it, I'm sure Joe would appreciate it!

hi everybody

Hi Bransons!

I found this blog a couple months ago, but hadn't figured out what to post on it. I had plans of posting a video documentary of the different Wii bowling styles of the California Bransons, but that was vetoed by all potential subjects of said documentary. You should ask for demonstrations next weekend at Beth's wedding, particularly of Mrs. Mary Woo Branson, who ends each bowl with a dramatic high kick.

It was Jim's 57th birthday last Tuesday, so my boyfriend and I were visiting San Diego last weekend. From me, he got a T-shirt with a picture of a raw salmon steak and his catchphrase, "I like fish", as he really likes fish. It is an inside joke, kind of. My boyfriend, Kyle, walks agonizingly slow, and when we want him to walk faster, we try to get him to do his impression of Jim. This involves him going, "I'm Jim Branson. I like fish." and speed walking. Unfortunately, I did not get a photo of Jim in his new T-shirt. The loose fit shows off his diminishing belly. Jim is sticking to the all meat, no carb diet, supposedly on instructions from his cardiologist. He claims to have lost 16 pounds so far! Woohoo!

He had some trouble this weekend on our visit to the farm where they get their biweekly delivery of fruits and vegetables. He could not resist the fresh picked strawberries and chips and guacamole. Here are some pictures I'm sure Mom & Dad would not appreciate me posting:

Mom with some baby lettuce in the greenhouse.

I'd guess Dad's going to get his hair cut before Beth's wedding, so here is your chance to see what we call "the troll head".

Here are some other random photos I just uploaded from my camera:

Mom cooking supper on Sunday night.

Stevie & Dad watching the start of the Lakers-Celtics game.

Close-up on Stevie, who is ignoring me.

For those who have never met Kyle, here he is, eating a promotional $5 Quizno's sub in our new apartment. We moved last week, and there are still boxes & furniture all over.

My pet mouse, Spazmotron, gnawing on a toilet paper roll.

Jacaranda near my apartment in Pasadena. Perty.

Congratulations to Karen & Jeff! Oh, and of course Beth & Matt. Sorry I cannot make it out to Wisconsin this weekend. I wish you all the best of luck.

Lotsa love,
Kristin

Hear Ye, Hear Ye...an optional get together

Opposed to some obligatory get-togethers, there will be an optional one at Dick and Diane's house at 3 pm on Sunday, June 15th. Beverage and food will be provided. This will, of course, include adult beverages. We understand that people may not attend for several reasons. The most obvious is that we have had our fill of sweat, slander, and outrageous Branson stories from the wedding just two days prior. Of course, it is Father's Day too. We suspect Father's Day will bring about lots of emotion this year. That's why we will be celebrating father's in all forms...those who are no longer with us, future fathers, those that are still in good health (for now), and those who shake too much. (Sorry, Dad). However, we certainly understand and support if families want to be alone on this day. We will be toasting to all fathers at our house though, and so everyone is welcome to come by or stay all night, even on this difficult day. There will be a festivus pole carried over from the last crappy holiday (or at least some item that serves the same purpose) in case grievances arise. Hope to see you all there at 3 pm. Feel free to just RSVP on the blog so we can get an idea of how much food and drink to prepare.
