Tube Free

My dad just wanted me to let everyone know that after 25 days without food by mouth they removed the feeding tube today. He is on liquids for a few days, mush for a few days then solids. He said he first had coffee, then soup with a glass of milk. He also now has a device that he can hold to his neck to talk.

Good Lord Mother...

Anyway, Matt decided to jump on the bandwagon as well and get married sometime in the next 10 years :). We do know for sure that it's going to be in Madison (yeah!), but any other when/where logistics are a complete mystery at this time.

I'm kind of regretting chopping my hair off a few weeks ago...

Update

Just wanted to let the bloggers know that my dad seems to be doing a lot better. We were up there today, and he was sitting up and joking around. It would be fair to say that the first person to bring him pizza, hot wings or a cup of coffee would be his favorite. He looks really good and a lot of the swelling due to the infection has gone down. There is still some drainage or "ooze" as he referred to it, but other than that he really seems to be improving. Still no talk of a release date, but he said today he is ready to go home. Thanks to all of you for your time spent at the hospital, support, prayers, phone calls and concern, we all really appreciate it. He also wanted me to wish Pat a Happy Birthday!

Thinking of you

Bill, thoughts and prayers for you today. We're all thinking of you today and praying for a successful surgery.
