Finally
I appreciate finally being invited to be part of the family, thanks. Actually I was going to ask about it at Easter and it slipped my mind.
As far as an update, we've got a sick Ellie on our hands right now. She threw up about 15 times on Monday, Josh stayed home Tuesday and she was good all day and then let loose again at 4:30, so I stayed home Wed. She was her normal self Wednesday night, crawling around, causing trouble, not going to sleep, so we took her to daycare yesterday. I got there to pick her up and the daycare provider said she was worried. Ellie took a 4 1/2 hour nap, wouldn't eat or drink and hadn't had a wet diaper all day. We ended up in urgent care last night. She tossed her cookies all over the doctor, the med student and me (somehow she always avoids Josh), so they decided oral rehydration would be the next step. We sat there giving her one syringe full of fluids every five minutes. She managed to keep that down, which was great, because the next step was an IV. She slept well last night and Josh said she ate and drank some this morning. My mom is taking care of her today because we are both low on sick days. I have one left and Josh is fresh out, so we're using all possible resources.
Hopefully all of you are doing well. I did check out the link that Susanne sent. I also read somewhere about a site called legacy.com (I think) where you can post memories and comments and things like that about family members you have lost. Haven't had a chance to look into it with all the cleaning up of vomit, but it might be a nice thing to look at.
Have a great weekend!!!!

Hail no!
If anyone is interested, this link contains some photos of hail from the hailstorm that totalled Beth's car last week. Beth created the hail map at work the next day. http://www.crh.noaa.gov/mkx/?n=041306_hail

Information from Susanne
Most of you probably got this directly from Susanne, but I thought I'd post it for the others.
The math community is gearing up for conferences, programs andpublications in Tom's honor.Tom was the main organizer of the Midwest Geometry Conference & it willbe held in Iowa City, May 18-20, 2007. A colleague from the Universityof Iowa, Palle Jorgensen, has taken over and a lot of Tom's friends hereare helping everywhere they can.I've volunteered as the web master, since I don't know the first thingabout math (though, I could rattle off the topic lines even in mysleep). You'll find lots of stuff at http://www.math.uiowa.edu/MGC2007 and it isbeing updated continually.I took the liberty of adding pictures of each of the Branson siblings onthe 'family' page. They were taken while you guys were helping out theweek following. Should you wish to have your picture replaced by onebetter taken - really, I think you all look fine - just send it to me &I'll get it done. The 'speaker' page indicates representation from everywhere in theworld, and we're already now getting emails from national (Stanford, this morning) & international (France, later in the day) mathematicians, saying that they are close friends of Tom & they want to speak also...

Hello from Vegas
Hope this message finds everyone well. We are in Las Vegas as of yesterday, at Mandalay Bay. I have a software conference starting on Sunday. Did my first poker tournament and finished 18th out of 60, they pay seven places, go figure. Been covering our losses by betting on the Brewers, it's a sure thing every night. I got to go put $10 down on Fred Couples, he's in 2nd after 2 rounds and they're still giving 15 to 1. Mike thanks for the oil link, we are counting on some white collar crime in our future. Mary Woo, good luck with your challenge. See you all soon.

Swimmin' Pools, Movie Stars
Hey!
Here's the info on the land in North Dakota for those of you who want to look at things online.
The website is http://www.oilgas.nd.gov/
Hopefully, you can figure out how to use the site to see what you want. I have used the Well Search and the GIS Map Server the most.
Here are the locations of interest:
- Township 145, Section 10, Range 97
- Township 145, Section 6, Range 96
It is interesting not only to look at the specific locations, but also to look at the area around them. For example, you can put in only a township in the Well Search and see a listing of all the wells in that area. Or you can use the GIS Map Server to go to a location, zoom out and see what's around it.
