I posted a couple of things on the Buxton blog for anyone who is interested. There is a funny video of Ellie at gymnastics as well as some pictures and a video of Jaymeson. Enjoy!!!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Ode to a Dad
That's super rad
That's super rad
Always looking at the good
Never at the bad
It's really no wonder
Why he's so rad
Seeing the best in each day
He holds on tight to his wife
Taught his kids about love
The solar system and life
Lives every moment to the fullest
Never lets anyone take away his day
So lucky to have him
Happy birthday we say
Happy birthday dad! Can't wait to spend it with you next year in Mexico!
Love,
Love,
Karen

Bill's Brigade
I posted a while back, but just wanted to give a little more info on the ACS UnitedHealthcare Family Run/Walk on April 19th. If you want the t-shirt with the Bill's Brigade logo you need to register by Feb. 26th (27th actually, but that gives me time to get the stuff together and get it to the right people). You can register online, and the process and pages are more user-friendly this year. You do have to register one person at a time though, which is okay since people can now edit their personal pages.
You can continue to raise pledges until the race. I believe the cutoff for online is a few days before and any cash donations can be turned in the day of the race, or they usually have registration the day before where you can turn pledges in. Once you've registered just send me your shirt size, age and whether you're running or walking so I can put you on the roster.
Sorry if you got multiple emails this morning. Pat said he got three, although I sent it only once. Not sure about that. If you can't make it to the race, and still want to fundraise, that would be awesome. Some of you may have gotten the brochures in the mail as well, and may have noticed our very own Becky Wondra on the cover. Way to represent!
So, here's the link, feel free to recruit, blackmail, whatever it takes to raise some money!!!

Happy Birthday Matt!
I wanted to put up an incredibly incriminating, embarrassing photo of my lovely husband in celebration of his 26th birthday. Instead, I was inspired by Obama last night and chose to reflect on the dire economic times we're facing. Here then is Matt with Mr. Warren Buffet.

Hopefully he can grant you all of your birthday wishes. :) Love you!

Up and running (or walking)
I picked up the information on the ACS UnitedHealthcare Run/Walk tonight. Here is the link to register or donate online:
If you are registering just click "Join a team", and then search by teams. We're sticking with Bill's Brigade and the logo design from last year. From there you can edit your personal page, and send emails to your friends to ask for donations. Feel free to invite others to join the team as well.
In the packet we were listed at 61 members and almost $7,000, with Mary leading our team in donations. Our team photo was in the team captain's packet, and Becky is featured on the cover of the fundraising pamphlets. If you'd rather not raise money online, and would like the registration packet let me know, and I'll put one in the mail.
Thank you all in advance for your efforts. If you have any questions please shoot me an email!

It's a boy!

Well, Josh finally did it. We had our ultrasound today and the little guy showed his parts right off the bat. The woman had asked if we wanted to know the sex, we said yes, and she turned the machine on and said, "Well, I know right away, but I'm going to make you guys wait." This indicated to me that it was indeed a boy, but I didn't tell Josh that. Later as she pointed to his boy parts we high fived, and Josh shed a few tears. She also noted that he had his hands "down there", so she knew it was a boy since she's never seen a girl do that. Here are some pictures of the little guy. One is a profile shot, and the other is a picture of his 'business'.

Save the date...
The American Cancer Society's UnitedHealthcare Family Run/Walk is scheduled for Sunday, April 19, 2009. The running and walking begin at noon with a kids run at 11:30. I'm not sure what kind of walking shape I'll be in by then, but I already returned the postcard letting them know we'd be back. There is generally a meeting for team captains in late January, at which time I'll get more info, and get us signed up.
So, after a stellar performance last year, let's see if we can top it this year. I think our final fundraising total was near $7,000, second only to a business which raised over $20,000. As I recall Mary led the fundraising efforts with just over $1,700. Amazing.
I think we did an awesome job of representing not only Dad last year, but all the famililes that are affected by cancer. I think that we can definitely do it again. The day after the walk last year one of my co-workers came up to me and said it was absolutely amazing to see all the people that were up there as part of Bill's Brigade. She said it brought tears to her eyes, and at that moment I could not have been more proud of all of you.
Feel free to recruit, start getting donations, whatever. As soon as I have more info I will pass it on. If you want more specifics you can go to cancer.org and enter in the La Crosse zip code (54601 for those who don't know), and click on Upcoming Events. I believe our event is the fourth of fifth one down on the list.
Even if you can't make it, please sign up as part of our team. You'll get the t-shirt with the Bill's Brigade logo (designed by Mr. Tony Branson himself), as well as the pleasure of raising funds for our team.
Thanks again for being such an awesome family. I feel very blessed.

Jaymeson's Birthday
I sent out an evite, but in case it didn't work, or I missed some people, I wanted to past as well. We'll be celebrating Jaymeson's birthday (actually Jan. 3rd) on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009, at Chuck E. Cheese at 11 a.m. They don't take reservations for non-bank breaking parties, so we're going to head there a little early and hopefully grab one of the large tables in the front. We'll order up some pizzas, sodas and supply the cake, so please join us if you're free. We figured most people would have Thursday off, and Josh is gone Friday, so it just worked out best for planning purposes. If you didn't get the evite, but want to respond here go for it, we'll factor you in!!! Hope to see you Thursday.

We miss you...
Christmas isn't the same these days, but we have a lot to be thankful for. Although you're not right here next to us, we hold your spirit and memory near. Not a day goes by we don't think of you and smile, remembering all the reasons why we love you. Merry Christmas. Say hi to Tom and the others. We sure do miss you. We'll continue to celebrate for a lifetime.
